Restaurant Week Debuts in Santa Fe and Albuquerque - February and March, 2010 “Red or green?” may be New Mexico’s official state question, but diners will be facing many more delectable choices when the state’s
first Restaurant Week
promotion debuts in Santa Fe (February 28th to March 6th) and Albuquerque (March 7th to 13th).
Designed to showcase the extraordinary talent and variety of local restaurants, most New Mexico Restaurant Week participants will feature three-course,
prix-fixe dinners for just $25 ($25 for two in some restaurants), from Sunday to Saturday.
Menus for each restaurant will be posted in January on the Restaurant Week website. Diners are encouraged to make reservations in advance. “Restaurant Week NM: Savor the Flavor…Relish the Price” is supported by the New Mexico Tourism Department, the Santa Fe and Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureaus and the New Mexico Lodging Association as well as state and city leaders. More than 60 restaurants and hotels are expected to participate. Restaurant Week, which began in New York City several years ago, has blossomed into an extremely popular event in scores of cities around the country. In New Mexico, it was organized by Wings Media Network, a Santa Fe-based public relations firm. Santa Fe and Albuquerque Restaurant Weeks are scheduled back-to-back, creating a two-week-long gastronomic experience. “Restaurant Week NM entices local diners in both cities to get out and explore new dining opportunities,” says Wings Media Network President Michele Ostrove. “The event really addresses the growing trend of ‘culinary tourism.’ It will attract many people to Santa Fe and Albuquerque to take advantage of our incredible variety of dining opportunities at a very attractive price. Visitors will be able to stay over at special rates, check out galleries and shops, then try another restaurant the following day.” © 2009 |
