New Mexico Adventure Activities

From soft adventure to hang by your fingers

Skiing

It’s time to ski: New Mexico is a “crazy busy” skiing destination. The Albuquerque Journal reports that not only New Mexicans, but Texans and other out-of-state skiers are taking to the New Mexican ski slopes. Other ski destination are far more expensive than New Mexico. Great skiing condition is the other reason provided for the popularity of the slopes. Great ski conditions and affordable ticket prices make New Mexico the best value for quality skiing in the country. Read about our slopes at Ski New Mexico

Hiking

There's great hiking all over the state. In Albuquerque visitors can both picnic and enjoy an easy walk at Elena Gallegos or charge up the mountain on the La Luz trail. One of the most popular trails is the Pino Trail at Elena Gallegos.

The Crest offers spectacular views from generally flat and well-marked trails (but if you aren't used to walking two miles above sea-level, take it very easy). The North Trail is a great place to start.

Kayak or Canoe

Take a mellow, gentle trip downstream on the Rio Grande. You'll journey through the outskirts of Albuquerque, but see only mountains and trees. Read about these guided Kayak and Canoe the Rio Grande
