Church of Beethoven: Spirituality without dogma

Every Sunday, a unique kind of community arts and music based spiritual experience takes place in a performance space/coffee house. The Church of Beethoven captures the experience of religion, without the dogma of a church.
Felix Wurman founded Church of Beethoven (COB) to create something that went beyond a concert. The result was a spiritual community based on love of music and the arts.  An unusual concept perhaps, but in practice a community that stimulates and energies the mind and soul.

It is as they say, a “celebration of the arts in a manner that transcends the commonplace

On recent program included a piece by Cabriel Faure adapted for viola and piano, a fascinating explanation of Dark Matter, and the Kegelstatt Trio for clarinet, viola and piano. In between was the two minute Celebration of Silence, for meditation or contemplation.

There’s always music and poetry, and occasionally something totally unexpected - like a presentation on dark matter by Dr. Dinesh Loomba, a physicist at UNM.

Factory on Fifth Artspace, reclaimed factory space, is home to artists and galleries, and the Kosmos where COB sets up folding chairs, creates comfy spaces, and people come, drink espresso or tea and munch on pastries by Billy Brown of Cuisine del Corazon, and experience the spiritual side of the arts. Sundays at 10:30 to 11:30.
